What happens when you combine a bride with amazing style and a groom with amazing dance moves? This wedding! Katherine and Mark’s wedding was the definition of whimsical elegance and fun. Every single detail of their wedding contributed to the vision of these two newlyweds. Their charming venue, Heritage Prairie Farm, provided the perfect backdrop for this wedding of beautiful colors and textures.
The wedding colors were a mix of blushes, peach, and mint. Katherine described the theme of the wedding as whimsical and vintage. They wanted the day to feel relaxed, and while they were in love with the farm setting, they didn’t want the décor or focus to be overly rustic. They loved the idea of the whimsical touches juxtaposed with the outdoor backdrop and so did I. The result was stunning. I got the feel of an elegant carnival walking through the tent filled with oversized balloons that Mark and Katherine decorated with ribbons to match the palette of the day.
The bride wore a blush Kelly Faetanini gown with eclectic accessories and some beautiful Juliette garden roses in her hair. The flowers featured large Café Au Lait dinner plate dahlias, more garden roses, and blushing bride (how perfect). The girls wore blush dresses of their choosing and the guys wore gray suits with a selection of different bluish and green ties.
A favorite part of the day was the home-made selfie booth decked out in the colors of the day and located in the goat barn complete with goats and a donkey. Notice how their selfie booth sign looks just like the two of them. These two are talented. Other favorite details were the floral wreath hanging over the dance floor, the cobalt vases at the reception, and the naked cake and dessert bar. Dinner and dessert was served on vintage miss-matched china from the farm.
I am so proud to see this wedding recently featured in Wedding Guide Chicago.
