Who doesn’t love a surprise marriage proposal?  It’s such a beautiful moment to witness and I’m always excited when someone contacts me about them.

So, when Chris e-mailed me and asked if I could do this for him and Kara, we started making plans.  They have a labradoodle puppy named Finley and he wanted to include the dog, so we found a place Finley could play.

The hard part is always getting the timing just right and somehow coming up with a story why and when for the soon to be fiance’.  Chris planned it out perfectly.  Kara thought her and Chris were meeting some friends for a pub crawl in Geneva and when they got close, he said he had Finley and needed to take him for a walk at this fun park first.  So, Kara came to the park to walk their cute dog.  I pretended to be a nature photographer (my usual) and when Chris found the right moment, I caught the moment.  She was definitely surprised and……. she said “yes”.

I had never met them before, but by the end of the session I felt so connected to them having been there for this awesome moment in their lives.  I am so thankful Chris picked me to photograph his surprise and I wish this couple (and Finley) all the very best and happy wedding planning.
