Stephanie and Dan had a Prairie Landing Golf Club wedding in West Chicago, Illinois. This boho chic inspired affair of grey and peach was just breathtaking when combined with the rolling backdrop of the golf course. The bridesmaids and junior bridesmaids all wore different shades of gray and peach and the two little flower girls wore pink with delicate flower crowns. Stephanie had on a stunning strapless gown with a very light coral, peachy embellished belt. The flowers were the perfect accent to the day and included dahlias, succulents, and Juliette garden roses. The guys were no less styling with their perfectly tailored gray suits, peach ties, and the linen pocket squares were not only the perfect texture and elegant touch to the day, but also honored their parents who had passed from ovarian cancer (the official awareness color is blue) and diabetes (the official awareness color is silver).
Stephanie and Dan had so many great DIY items at this Prairie Landing Golf Club wedding and really thought and worked hard to make this day as memorable and fun for their guests as possible. It was definitely a success. They created beautiful cork flowers for their place cards. Each table at the reception had a number that was significant to their relationship and told a story to their guests about them. They had created a fun ribbon backdrop as a selfie station and designed the perfect gray lanterns filled with flowers as centerpieces.
The ceremony, as always at Prairie Landing, was just stunning. As Stephanie walked across the long, wooden bridge to meet Dan, old vintage airplanes flew past from the neighboring airport. The littlest flower girl, Kat, had to stop and observe in the middle of her walk down the aisle. There were lots of tears and lots of laughs at the ceremony. Stephanie and Dan kept a seat open for their parents who were only able to attend in spirit. Dan’s Father, Ted, held his late wife’s photo as Stephanie walked down the aisle. It was so touching and such a bittersweet moment. I say this word “moment” a lot when I’m describing weddings because these little moments are what make a day so very memorable. The bride and groom laughed and cried through the ceremony and guests cheered them through the recessional with peach ribbons and bells.
Dan and Stephanie had two cake toppers (one was a bobble head of them…..AWESOME) and Dan’s Dad surprised him with a cake topper his late Mother had saved for him the morning of the wedding (more tears were involved), so they had three cake toppers in the end. Why not, right? Check out their beautiful peach cake. So much frosting.
