Happy four year blogaversary to me! Now, if you Google how to spell that, it has a couple of options, so I am going with the most popular of “blog-a-ver-sa-ry”. Anyhow, four years ago today, I enthusiastically started my Elite Photo blog and have loved every single minute of it. I have to say, if you have not tried writing a blog and have ever considered it, get started. There are so many gratifying moments I have photographing the many different weddings throughout the year, but I get just as much joy from posting my favorite moments and retelling the story of the wedding on the blog each month. It’s so much fun to see the reactions from my clients, their friends, and family when they see their blog posted or the wedding day re-told. I don’t get time to blog everything I do, but I wish I could.
Kelly and Pete had a truly uniqe wedding day at the Silver Spur Ranch in Maple Park, Il. Guests were brought to the ranch in a horse and buggy as well as was Kelly and her girls. There were tears and laughter as Kelly rode down the road past the white picket fence of the ranch and all the guests anxiously awaited her arrival. Their pup was the ring bearer and Pete greeted Kelly at her horse and walked her down the aisle himself. During the ceremony, we were surrounded by the fields of horses galloping and enjoying the spectacle of the wedding.
The reception had beautiful carrot centerpieces and guests followed the names of the ranch horses to their seats in the large, white tent. During sunset, we took a few moments to get some shots of Kelly with her horses. The night ended with a beautiful country sunset along with some dancing and an ice cream truck for late night dessert. Thank you to this wonderful couple for letting us be a part of this truly memorable event.
